About Us
In years gone by, car clubs were a place where guys with club jackets and grease under their fingernails hung out. Okay, we do have jackets (but they're really cool) and, well, working on our cars does get a little grease under those nails. But those stereotypes have gone away (about time) and who knows, maybe have been replaced by new ones. Read on and find out more.
Our club membership is comprised of both men and women (not as many women as men, but we are always looking for new members) from many different walks of life and a wide range of age. Our youngest member is 18 and drives a Mopar that I could only dream about at his age, and our oldest is 62. The majority of our members are family types so we have a large family focus in our events and club activities. Family members are always encouraged to attend and participate.
We are a non-profit organization that tries to find programs/projects in our area that we can help with. I'm not sure the non-profit thing was as much by design as by necessity. Hey, if you can't make money at it, might as well donate what you do make. Just kidding. Seriously now, except for funding club expenses such as our monthly newsletter, Pentastar, and keeping our club officers in administrative supplies, the monies generated by membership dues (cheap) and club events such as our annual car show, "Sunbust" , are used to support local groups. We support Clover Park Technical College by providing funds for the scholarship program in their automotive course. Additionally, we support the Tone School for the Deaf. Our club is also registered with Teamsters. That's right - you might see one of club members' cars (could be yours if you are a member) in a feature movie.
There are many other things that we get our greasy fingers into. This is just a small picture of who we are and what we do and we are always looking for a little more (both the who's and what's). If some of these appeal to you, check us out. See ya on the road.
